Appino & Biggs Tip of the Month
The next time you have a bunch of files, folders, or photos with names like DSC_6789 and you want to rename them in a more uniform way, highlight (select) all the files/folder in question by holding down the SHIFT key and clicking the first file to select it, then scrolling down to the last one and clicking that. This will highlight all files in between the two clicks. If the files you want to select are not located next to each other, use the CTRL key instead of the SHIFT key, to select specific files.
With the files you want to rename selected, right-click, choose Rename and type in something that best describes them. For example, if you have a number of pictures from your last vacation in Hawaii, you might rename them “Hawaii.” You will now have a uniform naming convention: Hawaii (1), Hawaii (2), Hawaii (3), etc.
